Tasked with the ambitious goal of revamping the Royal School in Transylvania's digital presence, I embarked on a journey to create a website that seamlessly marries elegance with modernity.
This prestigious educational institution desired a platform that not only reflected its esteemed legacy but also its commitment to contemporary pedagogical practices.
The challenge lay in delicately balancing the old with the new; selecting and refining content from the previous website to align with a fresh, modern aesthetic without losing the essence of the school’s storied past.
Immersing myself in the school environment, I aimed to capture its unique spirit, working closely from its very heart and maintaining a direct, collaborative relationship with the head of the school.
Strategy
Content Selection and Refinement: The process began with a careful review of the existing website's content, identifying pieces that resonated with the school's vision.
These selections were then thoughtfully modified to fit the updated design concept, ensuring the school’s heritage was honored while embracing a more sophisticated and contemporary look.
On-Site Inspiration: To truly grasp the essence of the Royal School, I spent time on-site, absorbing the atmosphere and gaining direct inspiration. This approach allowed for a deeper understanding of the school’s culture and ethos, directly influencing the design and strategic direction.
Wireframing and UX/UI Design: With insights gained from my time at the school, I crafted wireframes that served as a blueprint for a user experience that was not only intuitive but also deeply reflective of the school’s values and ethos. The design process was iterative, involving continuous feedback from the school’s head to ensure the final product authentically represented the Royal School.
